Southdown relies on volunteers to help accomplish our yearly fundraisers and keep our museum running like a well-oiled machine. We sincerely thank all of those people that come out and give their time to help keep the museum a treasured part of the Houma community.

Terrebonne Historical & Cultural Society, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that preserves and promotes history, culture and arts in Terrebonne Parish through exhibits, public programs, education and special events at
Southdown Plantation House & Museum and throughout the area.

Neighborhood Events

Once a year, Southdown hosts the National Night Against Crime event for the surrounding neighborhood. This event brings the community together to help keep our city safe.
